Benefits of Live In Childcare

Are you struggling with managing the school runs? Rushing back from work to collect the children?

An au pair or a nanny can help create a better work life balance in your family – by providing an extra pair of hands both with caring for your children, helping with the key/busy times of the day as well as with assisting in keeping on top of the day to day light household duties.

With less rushing around – you will have more quality time with your family.

Why are families choosing live in au pairs & nannies?

A local nanny can be amazing - but the key challenge many families face is the fact that fewer nannies wish to work part time. At Smartaupairs & Nannies, we place both full time nannies AND part time live in support.

Whether or not a LIVE IN au pair or a nanny is the right option for you completely depends on your family needs, circumstances and of course budget.

We would suggest considering the following:

Affordability: An au pair can offer part time help and you pay for the hours that you need, rather than for someone to be on standby. You do not pay extra for more children. The hours are flexible and typically vary between 25-30 hours though some au pairs accept less hours and some/qualified candidates also accept full time hours. Many our of our Aussie and New Zealand nannies also love part time roles as it allows them to explore and work.

Personalised Care: Live-in nannies and au pairs provide one-on-one care for children in a home environment. This allows for more personalised attention, tailored to the individual needs and preferences of the child. Consistency: Having a live-in caregiver can provide a sense of stability and consistency for children, as they form a close and ongoing relationship. This stability can be particularly beneficial for younger children.

Flexible Schedules: Live-in nannies and au pairs can often accommodate flexible schedules, making it easier for parents to balance work and family responsibilities. They are also be available for occasional evenings or weekends, providing parents with additional support. Think of the times when a child is poorly and cannot attend nursery/school - a live in childcarer is perfect help who can step in at a much shorter notice compared to a live out nanny.

Cultural Exchange: Our candidates generally come from different countries, providing families with an opportunity for cultural exchange. This can enrich the family's experience and expose children to different customs.

Household Support: In addition to child care, live-in childcarers can assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and other household tasks.

Convenience: Families with busy schedules or irregular working hours may find it convenient to have a live-in caregiver who can adapt to their needs and provide support when required.

Support & Expertise: Smartaupairs provides not only security (through ensuring the candidates introduced are vetted) but also support both during the recruitment process & after arrival.
