people who can help with various tasks ranging from serving cups of tea to
gardening and it will be a great way for us to get together and to get ‘stuck
in’. I think that our au pairs will agree that helping out as a volunteer is a
uniquely rewarding experience.
house frequently receives requests from all over Kent to provide speakers to attend
schools, Women's Institute meetings, businesses, churches, Golf Clubs etc. to
promote Demelza House. Receiving cheques and saying 'thank you' is also a very
important and rewarding role for ambassadors. It is important that they raise awareness
of Demelza within the community to raise funds. I will sign up as an Ambassador
and hope my public speaking skills can be of use.
company have agreed to a ‘Give As You Earn’ scheme and we will donate a minimum
of £2 for every au pair placement. We will encourage further donations from
families and will consider a ‘Matched-giving’ scheme in future also.
